About Dan Crall

Aside from owning and operating Corvallis Pedicab, Dan is an avid cyclist, a freelance narrator and voice over artist, an experimental music composer, and audio/video producer. He moved to Oregon in 2005 after graduating Ball State University's Telecommunications Program, to work for Oregon Public Broadcasting Radio. There, he was an announcer and producer for just over 4 years, but when they decided to consolidate the station 90 miles away in Portland, Crall had a tough decision to make. Would he begin commuting over 180 miles a day, 5 days a week, and possibly stay in a roach motel on weekends between airshifts? Would he leave behind all the friends and connections he made in Corvallis, and sell his house he just bought just 6 months before the decision to close the radio station? After nearly a year of contemplation, Crall decided to take the plunge into self-employment and enjoys every minute of it. Well, almost every minute. He could do without the occasional client who is all excited to ride in the pedicab, but turns away the moment they hear it costs a couple dollars. Dan's interests range from microbrewed beer to photography, to imperfections, smells, raising chickens and intelligent parody of American politics. Being self-employed, he appreciates a diversity in work, and is always happy to lend a helping hand in messy yards, farm properties, or a narrator's voice for commercials or instructional videos like this one. He believes the new economy requires each of us to be diverse and multi-skilled, and to fulfill actual needs. "We've abused this planet and wasted our talents long enough, and the time to live to our full potential starts now!" he mutters. Dan is a father and husband, with a wonderful son named John Hezekiah and a lovely Peruvian wife named Beulah. They live with their cat, dog and numerous chickens on their small homestead in Southeast Corvallis.
